Excellent value, good quality image

This is a good high resolution monitor for general home or office us. I found it excellent for photo editing, internet, business and Flight Simulator use.The lack of speakers is not an issue as separate speakers usually provide much better sound. At lower resolutions I found text could lose sharpness but set it at the recommended maximum(1680*1050) and it gave excellent results. The screen has a matt surface which I prefer to the highly reflective glass fronted screens found on some monitors.Photographs can be a problem as some LCD monitors suffer from very poor contrast and the colours can change as you view from different angles. The colour richness on the ViewSonic is not as good as a Sony Trinitron monitor but it is good and the wide viewing angles meant I had no problems of colour variation as I changed viewing angles. I was happy with the colours once I had calibrated the display against the output from my photo printer (I used Adobe Gamma to do this). With flight simulator I could not use the maximum screen resolution as the game ran too slowly, however this is a limitation of the PC/Graphics card rather than the monitor and by reducing the resolution it worked fine. I did not see any blurring.Overall I found this to be great value, quality display - only reason not to buy would be if you wanted professional level photo editing or really needed digital inputs.
