Ultra-compact, with fast data transfer rates and currently up to 2GB storage capacity, the removable Olympus xD-Picture Card has been developed to meet the requirements of the modern digital photographer. The xD picture card is also suitable for the panoramic function. Panorama function: Special function that allows the stitching together of numerous pictures to create a panorama effect. xD-Picture Cards from Olympus make it particularly easy to create such compositions when used in conjunction with a compatible Olympus digital camera. The Olympus xD-Picture Card, a new type of ultra-compact memory media developed jointly by Fuji Photo Film Co Ltd and Olympus Optical Co Ltd. Power Consumption - xD Picture-Card was designed to consume minimal power. Users will benefit from the convenience and savings of longer battery life on a single charge. What is type M The Type M xD was released in late 2005 and uses Multi Level Cell (MLC) architecture to achieve higher storage capacities. The Type M xD card suffers some compatibility issues with older cameras (especially video recording). The Olympus card has marginally slower read/write speeds than the their standard card & writes at 2.5mb/s and reads at 4.0mb/s. Please Note: We advise checking compatibility with your camera model.
