After only 2.5 years, it has become uneconomical to repair. Would have thought any freezer should give more life than that. Have bought second hand freezers in the past which have lasted longer. Engineer says the joint between the inner aluminium pipes and the copper pipe is a weak point where a leak can develop and gas can escape. Indesit fridge next to it seems ok. Would recommend if you get the freezer to go for extended warranty when they offer it again at end of first year.
